The Wurlitzer Bijou is a very rare orchestrion playing piano, violin and flute pipes, xylophone and snare drum using a 44 note multi-tune roll. Recorded on reel to reel tape at 7 1/2 ips in stereo in 1974. Converted to mp3 using "Hi-Q recorder". I didn't write down any of the names of the tunes when I recorded the Bijou.

Charlie Chaplins 53rd Film Released July 10 1916 The Vagabond was a silent film by Charlie Chaplin and his third film with Mutual Films. Released in 1916, it co-starred Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell, Leo White and Lloyd Bacon. This film echoed Chaplin's work on The Tramp, with more drama mixed in with comedy. The story begins with Charlie, playing music to raise money, and instead finds the abused girl (played by Edna) living in a gypsy camp. As in The Tramp, he works on finding a way to help...

Drawing material from the Imperial War Museum's extensive aural archive, Joshua Levine brings together voices from both sides of the Blitz and the Battle of Britain to give us a unique, complete and compelling picture of this turbulent time. In June 1940, British citizens prepared for an imminent German onslaught. Hitler's troops had overrun Holland, Belgium and France in quick succession, and the British people anticipated an invasion would soon be upon them. From July to October, they watched...

The Battle of Britain is thought to be the greatest air battle in history. This battle began on 10 July 1940 and ended on 31 October 1940. It followed the German Blitzkrieg of the Low Countries and France and the ignoble British retreat through Dunkirk. During the previous months the German Luftwaffe had triumphed over the air forces of Poland, Norway, Holland, Belgium and France and had destroyed all but 66 of the 260 British Hurricanes sent to support the British Army in France. The show centers on Robert Hartley, Ph.D. (Newhart), a Chicago psychologist. It divides most of its action between the character's work and his home life, with Hartley's supportive, although occasionally sarcastic, wife Emily (Suzanne Pleshette), and their friendly but inept neighbor, airline navigator Howard Borden (Bill Daily). At the medical office where Hartley had his psychology practice are Jerry Robinson, D.D.S. (Peter Bonerz), an orthodontist who also has a practice on the floor, and...
